Launched by Folkart Yapı in Folkart Towers, the Folkart Gallery holds the title of Turkey’s biggest gallery, set on an 800-square meter space.

The Folkart Gallery was developed at international standards by working with specialists on details such lighting, acoustics, and climatization, which collectors and artists consider to be crucial. The gallery will be managed by an advisory board, which is chaired by journalist and writer Doğan Hızlan and includes some of Turkey’s distinguished artists: Hüsamettin Koçan, Habip Aydoğdu, Hanefi Yeter, Kemal Tufan, and Çerkes Karadağ. Until March 15, 2015, entrance will be free to the Folkart Gallery’s painting and sculpture exhibition consisting of the “Ellerin Büyüsü” collection from Professor Hans Zilch, M.D. The biggest art event of 2015 in Turkey will be curated by İbrahim Karaoğlu.

The Folkart Gallery went through five years of artistic planning by the advisory board prior to its completion, and it aspires to bring world- renowned artists to Izmir and grow into a regular meeting point for the city’s art lovers.

During his inauguration speech of the Folkart Art Gallery, Folkart Chairman Mesut Sancak expressed their desire to improve the standards of art, both in Izmir and in Turkey. “For a long time, we have been working on the idea of developing an art gallery in Izmir that meets international standards with the goal of increasing awareness of and broadening interest in art.

Motivated by words from famous painter Pablo Picasso: ’Everything you can dream of is real,’ we present our art gallery for the service of Izmir residents. Now, Izmir is a contender to become the capital of art, and we are confident that all of Turkey and Izmir residents in particular will be following us closely.

The “Magic of Hands” collection by world- renowned Professor Hans Zilch, M.D. will be exhibited in Ankara and Istanbul, following Izmir, with Folkart sponsorship,“ he stated.
